an ending
the mental exercise that determines the future
Of course you should dream. Of course, you must. But more important than that, a promise binding you inextricably to the creation of the future…you MAY.
—
I knew there would be an ending
but did not imagine
it would be a happy one
there you will find the mother who
abandoned you when you were little
there, the friend you betrayed
arms wide and willing to forgive
it will come as a great surprise
this blossoming of a rose in spring
this shedding of a too-tight covering
— a crustacean’s great relief
we live for such reconciliation
we come to see
it lives in the seed of the moment
we realize, we were there all along

*One housekeeping note. If you clicked on my last post — Meditation can change the mind — and were disappointed to find nothing but a nondescript link, and were too suspicious to click on it, I went back and put a more proper video link to the monk’s talk on Youtube. Check it out if you have the interest!

I love this poem SO MUCH! It is SO beautiful and moving! The “crustacean” line is especially clever and brilliant! Great work, Marc! 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈
